7th Annual 5k Run, Walk and Roll


The Central Utah Center for Independent Living is a non-profit organization that helps people with disabilities. This is their annual fundraiser. The race is on Saturday, June 27 in Provo. It's a fun race to come and participate in. You don't have to be a serious runner. People of all sorts participate from the serious runners to the walkers, and moms with strollers. We've got lots of prizes to give away. You usually come away with more than it cost you for the entry fee.

Make a Difference, Change a Life, Become a Mentor

Heritage Schools, a residential treatment center for at-risk youth, is looking for mature, compassionate, responsible, and committed individuals to join our rich Mentor Program.

Volunteer in a quality treatment facility conveniently located 5 miles north of BYU on University Avenue, just north of Riverwoods. We offer thorough and ongoing training and support. Plan to give 2 hours per week. Make a friend, teach life skills and values, share, encourage, support, play, and have fun!

Must be 21 or older and a non-smoker, have good relationship skills, be commited to making a difference, and be willing to give of your time, energy, and talents for atleast 3 months.

Volunteer in Zions National Park




Position: Green Team/ Recycling Volunteer
Location: Zion National Park, Springdale, UT
Time Commitment: 32-40 hours/week, June - September (flexible; 8-10 weeks)

Volunteers will assist Zion's Green Team efforts through various projects and assignments, helping the park to further reduce waste and energy use, and provide input to enable greater sustainability. Volunteers will assist staff members responsible for park recycling program by: Collecting recyclable materials from containers at various park locations, track and monitor recyclable materials on spreadsheet and forms, provide updates as needed, ect.

Volunteers will also gain valuable experience in green technology with new and ongoing solar power projects in Zion National Park by: Assist park staff with planning and logistics for five solar projects in Zion, research and gather information, obtain specifications, and work with contractors, may assist with installation, inspection, and maintenance of solar panel projects. Also volunteers will complete carious other projects and duties as assigned.

Shared in-park housing available (must work a minimum of 32 hours/week).
